Synchronous and Blended Courses

Synchronous courses are training processes where learning is executed in classes or simultaneous sessions supported by an instructor or professor.

Synchronous courses can perform face-to-face or in a virtual classroom; they are made up of one or more sessions led by an instructor.

Each session can cover a theme of the course, and attendance registration and monitoring is completed during the session.

Each session can have virtual or self-study content that must also be navigated to complete the session. This is known as blended course.

To complete a synchronous course, you should attend sessions and navigate the mandatory lessons to obtain the minimum progress required to complete the training or access the evaluation if it is assigned to it. Synchronous courses are accessed from the My content section.

Once you enter the synchronous courses section, you will find tabs that group the contents as follows:

  • Active: For current courses to be completed, all synchronous courses have a starting and closing date in the upper right part of the course card.
  • Coming soon: For synchronous courses scheduled to start on a date after the current date.
  • Complete: For completed synchronous courses, whether or not they are approved or have already expired.
  • Suggested: For synchronous courses you were invited to do and that you can enroll in if they interest you.

Upon entering a synchronous course, you will find:

  • Surveys: If active, it supports collecting user data or opinions, including satisfaction levels with the learning process. Surveys could be required to download the certificate.
  • Certificate and digital badges: These can be generated once the minimum progress and the course evaluation have been completed if it has one.
  • Evaluation: If the course has an associated assessment, it will be enabled when you complete the required sessions for the course.
  • Forum: If active, it is used to make comments, interventions on the topics learned, questions, etc.
  • Status: Indicates whether the evaluation has already been completed.
  • Forum: If active, it is used to make comments, interventions on the topics learned, questions, etc.
  • Progress: Updated as the user completes sessions and mandatory lessons.
  • Complementary or extra content: These are optional lessons with additional content that support the learning process but are not required to complete the course.
  • Duration: It is the total time it takes to complete the sessions and the mandatory lessons.
  • Sessions: Shows the sessions associated to the synchronous course.

To access the lessons, select the session you want to access to register your attendance and take the mandatory lessons, if there are any.

Important: There are different attendance registration methods for each session defined by the platform administrator user.
